Ken Atlee
President & Co-founder
Ken Atlee, a native of Jacksonville, has purchased, sold, and renovated homes since 1974 and specialized in land development since 1984. A graduate of the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, including a semester abroad in Oxford, Ken returned to Jacksonville after earning his bachelor's degree and started buying and selling houses.
Partnering with a friend in late 1974, the two bought, renovated, and sold homes, operated a remodeling company focused on high-end and residential remodeling, and moved approximately 450 homes to new lots. Many of these houses were remodeled and retained by the two as rentals.
In 1984, Ken developed a 70-acre parcel of land on the westside of Jacksonville, and from that time to the present, he has focused his efforts on land development. Throughout the last few decades, The Atlee Property Group has developed rural sites, single-family home subdivisions, multi-family townhomes and apartments.
The company continues to stay busy with a variety of projects in the pipeline, and Ken has welcomed his two sons, Brian and Mike, into what is now a thriving family business. The three partners look forward to a bright future for The Atlee Development Group, continuing to grow in efficiency, client satisfaction, and general excellence.
Mike Atlee
President & Co-founder
Mike Atlee began his college years at the University of Mississippi but moved home to attend the University of North Florida after he "missed the salty air, the beach and fishing.” After earning a bachelor's in criminal justice with a history minor, he broadened his career scope, first with a position with Colliers International in the Industrial sector and then with Miller Electric, where he assisted with major projects within all the Baptist Medical Center and Nemours Children's campuses.
Later, presented with an opportunity to work with Powers Design in St. Pete Beach, Florida, Mike consulted his family and ultimately chose to stay in Jacksonville, joining his father in the Atlee Development Group. Mike had always assisted with the family business as a high school and college student, and the decision felt natural. "I'd been involved for a long time, and I love real estate, so it wasn't a difficult choice," he says.
As Vice President of Atlee Property Group, Inc, Mike's primary role is acquisitions of new properties for the partners to evaluate, as well as project management – everything from designing site plans, budgeting and construction management to assisting close-outs and seeking future growth opportunities.
In his off hours, Mike spends time with his wife and two children, Layla and Asher, exercising, cooking, fishing, beachcombing and reading when time allows. He serves on the board of directors for the Clay Roberts Memorial Inshore Slam Fishing Tournament.
Brian Atlee
President & Co-founder
After earning his bachelor's degree at the University of Central Florida, Brian Atlee began his career in commercial real estate with Suntrust Banks, then moved overseas to pursue an MBA at the National University of Singapore, also earning the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation during his graduate studies.
He then accepted an internship with Aviva Investors, which transitioned to a full-time role as an associate. In 2017, Brian became the director at UBS, continuing to focus on private equity real estate. During his tenure in Asia, Brian led investments into Asia Pacific real estate strategies of over $1.6 billion USD.
Brian and his family relocated from Singapore back to Florida during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in August 2021, Brian joined his brother and father in The Atlee Development Group. Now serving as Vice President, Brian's duties include sourcing new opportunities for land development, as well as optimizing processes, and keeping up business relationships. "I attend industry networking events and keep in touch with those related to the industry — brokers, lawyers, bankers," he notes.
During off-hours, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and toddler — the family is expecting another child soon — and savoring Florida's abundant outdoor activities.
